As a part of the measures taken up to fight coronavirus in Andhra Pradesh, the government has started manufacturing Thermal Screening Kits in Visakhapatnam from Wednesday,” said Minister for Industries, Commerce and Information Technology, Mekapati Goutham Reddy.
The Minister added that with the production of Thermal Screening Kits happening within the state, there will be a massive increase in the number of tests conducted per day. Goutham Reddy said that the State Government will procure Thermal Screening Kits required for conducting tests on 25 thousand people per day.
Goutham Reddy said that Thermal scanners have been launched in the state since Wednesday. Gautam Reddy said that the state government is working tirelessly to contain the spread of coronavirus in the state. Most of the positive cases reported on a daily basis were related to those in Quarantine, said the Minister.
Speaking over the state government’s efforts in the successful implementation of the lockdown, the Minister added that industries that were located in red zones have been completely shut, only 160 industries in green zones have been given permission for functionality.
The Minister further said that Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy is considering all possible ways to support MSME (Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises) to cope with the losses imposed due to the COVID-19 lockdown. The Minister concluded stating that the state government will extend all the possible help and assistance for these MSME sectors.
