Visakhapatnam : In a strong statement to India’s adversaries in Indian sub-continent, Chief of Army Staff General MM Naravane will on Thursday commission the last of the four indigenously built anti-submarine warfare (ASW) stealth warships ‘INS Kavaratti’ under Project 28 (Kamorta class) into the Indian Navy in Visakhapatnam.

The corvette was indigenously designed by the Indian Navy’s in-house organisation, Directorate of Naval Design (DND), and built by Garden Reach Shipbuilders and Engineers (GRSE), Kolkata.

It portrays the growing capability of the Indian Navy, GRSE and the nation in becoming self-reliant through indigenisation, thus, accentuating our national objective of ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’.
