Hyderabad: An elderly woman, who was reportedly suffering from an advanced stage of cancer and heading to Tirupati from West Bengal, died minutes before boarding her Tirupati flight from the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA) in Shamshabad here on Wednesday.

The woman, aged around 60 years, hailed from West Bengal and had a change over flight to Tirupati via RGIA. According to airport sources, she was near the boarding gate on a wheelchair to board the flight to Tirupati when she suddenly collapsed.

Her relatives rushed her to the health centre at the airport where doctors declared her brought dead. The body was later taken to her hometown in West Bengal for the last rites.

It is not clear whether she was on her way to the temple in Tirupati
