New Delhi: Sushant Singh Rajput, who was known for his power-packed performances, breathed his last on June 14, 2020. The ‘Dil Bechara’ actor was found hanging in his Bandra apartment. His untimely demise has re-ignited debates on several topics in the film industry. Many celebrities have been raising their voice against ‘nepotism’ and ‘lobbying’ in Bollywood.
Kangana Ranaut went a step ahead and called out the Bollywood bigwigs Karan Johar, Aditya Chopra, Mahesh Bhatt, Javed Akhtar and tagged them as the ‘suicide gang’ of the industry. Shatrughan Sinha has now come forward to extend support to Kangana in this debate.
In a recent interview with a leading news channel, Sinha applauded the ‘Queen’ actress for reaching the position she is in today without anyone’s support. He also added that people who are speaking against the actress are jealous of her success.
He was quoted saying, “People say bad things about Kangana and they are wrong, highly condemnable, shameful and painful — If you can’t boost someone’s morale, don’t do it. But this is what you’ll do? Will you condemn someone like this by character assassination and try to ruin their life like this? Who are you? What support did she seek from you? What financial aid did she take from you? What blessings did she seek from you? Most of the people I see, they speak against Kangana because they are very jealous of her.”
“Based on her own determination and commitment, based on her own confidence and her passion, she has progressed in life and the same way, our Sushant Singh Rajput was also rising. He was a big star and he had all the chances to become even a bigger star. It seems that the opportunities were crushed for him. Let me tell you, this industry is not your father’s estate. This belongs to everyone,” he added.
The actor also shed light on the fact how the practice of ‘lobbyism’ in the tinsel town ruined Govinda’s career who was an inspiration to many. He revealed that when Govinda was going through a tough phase in his life, they started evading and keeping a distance from him. A project was also taken away from the ‘Hero No. 1’ star even after shooting a certain part of the movie. Shatrughan Sinha called Govinda a ‘complete star’ in the interview.
Speaking of the Bollywood industry, the ‘Vishwanath’ actor called it a cut-throat, merciless and vicious platform and said that the practice of ‘lobbyism’ has always been prevalent and is becoming more uncontrolled now.
