Hyderabad: Justice T Vinod Kumar of the Telangana High Court on Friday directed the police authorities to permit the installation of the Ganesh idol at the Ranganatha Swamy Temple at Jiyaguda.

The judge, however, made clear that there will be no congregation and since the temple is open on certain terms and conditions issued by the government there will be strict compliance of the same.

The court, in fact, directed the writ petitioner to give an undertaking in writing that there shall be complete compliance of the various conditions as prescribed by the government.

Justice Vinod Kumar was dealing with a writ plea filed by G Bhasker Reddy, who questioned the action of the Station House Officer Kulsumpura in directing the petitioner and others to remove the Ganesh idol.

The judge reasoned that there was no separate pandal and that the idol was on a rock like structure and it is nobody’s intent to prevent prayer in a temple which is an abode of God.
